Labor Day Message for Grandma Alice

Good morning to you on this warm Labor Day in northern Michigan. Since you don't appear to be able to get my emails then I'll write to you via the blog. You can see by our blog and the Denja blog that we have done a lot of things this weekend. They are leaving us sometime today. It seems that some cold germs made their way with them and we have lots of coughs, runny noses and sore throats going around. Rose has a dandy cold and woke me up several times during the night. Baby Petey has his first cold, too, and had some rough nights. Isabel has a croupy cough. She lost a tooth yesterday, her second, and the tooth fairy showed up with a dollar for her. Last night we had a little fire in the firepit and our neighbor, Ring, came over. We had a nice talk and then the big girls and Mike came out and we watched the beautiful stars and shared what little knowledge we had about the constellations. All in all it has been a very nice weekend.

Just two more days and you go on your Colorado adventure! I'm very glad that you were able to talk Donna into going. Practice using the camera now and take lots of pictures! Love you lots.

Mike took this picture last night. A perfect sunset viewed from the Old Mission peninsula
