January on East Grand Traverse Bay

Happy New Year! Here's to 2011 and the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century. Rose had to work New Year's Eve and Day at 5:30am so we did not do the party thing or even make it to midnight. But, Bob picked up some lobster tail, fresh broccoli and made some garlic cheese biscuits for our New Year's Eve meal. A little champagne and we toasted in the new year.

We got some nice snow in early January and made our first cross country ski trek in our personal park behind us. Not a lot of snow and you can see spots of grass on the track above.

Four days after the shot above and about 8 more inches of snow made a pretty nice scene out back.

We made our second trek in the park with substantially more snow and sun making an appearance now and then.

Rose makes the background look nice.

A lot more snow made it more fun. Light fluffy stuff was pretty easy to move.

We're making tracks.

Just a backyard view.

"Is it time for a beverage now?"

Sunny here but another squall is rolling in. All in all a good day in northern Michigan.
