Wild Life and Asparagus

Thought it was time for another blog posting. We've had more birds this year than ever before feeding in the back...and front. We have at least 3 adult male orioles and females hanging around both the oranges and the hummingbird feeders. They have been great fun to watch.

We made the first ride on the Harley this weekend to the Empire Asparagus Festival. It is Americana incarnate. We had asparagus beer, brat, mac and cheese and soup topped off with a bloody mary with, of course, asparagus stalks as garnish. It was the warmest day of the year so far with temps in the 70s and a beautiful day for a ride.

A few photos follow.

Tried to get a photo with all three adult orioles but only could get this one on our front porch.

Another failed attempt to catch the many colors. When I tried to take this photo we had goldfinches, an indigo bunting, red grosbeck and male and female orioles all on these feeders at the same time. But you can see the grosbeck and a couple orioles.

A smile between sips of the bloody mary.

Contented! A guy had quite the conversation with Rose about her San Diego Padres visor. He lives there and just bought a vacation home around here.
