Mom and Aunt Donna came up for a nice visit Sunday and stayed through Wednesday. It was great to see them and have them visit! Of course the normal 4.5 hour drive up was extended to over 8 hours due to stops at Goodwill stores along the way. At least this visit they did not get lost! Bob worked Monday so Mom and Donna tood a nice ride up to Charlevoix, Petoskey and back down through Kalkaska before returning to the house. Mom lost a few dollars at the Odawa Casino in Petoskey but they had beautiful driving weather and a nice time.
On Tuesday we went for a tour of the Leelanau peninsula. Up through Suttons Bay and north Mom remembered that the daughter of her high school classmate, Whit Cranson, had a hydroponic tomato business. We took a flyer and found the business. We stopped and met Toni, Whit's daughter, and bought a few items. They have an impressive operation.

If you get up this way and north of Suttons Bay then take a left turn on Sattlebro Rd and drive the 4 miles to TLC tomatoes.

Well what do you know? There is a casino north of Suttons Bay so we had to make a stop. Optimism abounded at the door.

"Why did I spend that money? I spent part of my son Dennis' inheritance but fortunately son Bob's is still intact!"

North of Suttons Bay there is a nice little restaurant on the bay in Omena called Knot Just a Bar. We had a nice lunch and were ready to head across the peninsula.

We made a little stop in Leland. Both Donna and Mom have been there several times and enjoy the quaint little village and Fishtown. We had dessert at the Blue Bird Inn on the channel leading from Lake Leelanau into Lake Michigan.

Getting ready for dinner back at the ranch. Two nice ladies and a very nice visit. They left to return to Sturgis about 9am on Wednesday. Thanks for stopping!
