October 17 & 18 marked the height of color in our small spot but it was mostly gone to the north. We both had the weekend off so we too a ride to Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne City and East Jordan to find some color but it was pretty much gone. On Sunday we took a ride to Gaylord going the 'backway' to and fro but no color. In fact, it pretty much looked like November. We got some outdoor work done on the yard, did some driving the back roads and spent some time together. All in all a nice weekend...sweetest day, too!

Too bad the day was a bit hazy or you could see the nice color on the other side of East Grand Traverse Bay. This shot is looking at the Old Mission peninsula from a few hundred yards from our house...ok maybe a half mile from our house!
