Birthday Visit...Mikey is Three and TC Furniture Move

Mikey's third birthday was June 10 so the weekend of June5-8 we made a trip down to Plymouth to celebrate a bit early and to do a couple fixit jobs for the Denja clan. We straightened and braced an outdoor playset, took down vertical blinds and installed new drapes, took the kids to see the movie "UP" and made a stop at Red Robin after the movie to take the Denjas out to celebrate Mike's birthday. We also made a quick trip from there to Sturgis to check in on Grandma Redmond, now a month after surgery for an abdominal aorta aneurysm. It was a quick trip and lots of travel but well worth it!

Not as dangerous as it looks...Mikey wanted to try using a screwdriver and he unscrewed all of the screws! Not bad for a 3-year old. We were successful in getting the new curtains installed but forgot to get a photo of our work.

The playset is leaning quite a bit to the right before we braced it.

After the bracing it is not completely vertical but almost and has lots of new bracing to keep it there and steady.

At the end of our Red Robin meal they brought a sundae and sang to Mikey. Petey looks pretty interested in the sundae.

Grandpa Bob tells Petey a story.

Aunt Erin got a last minute gift of a plane ticket to visit us from San Diego. On this Sunday, Raul Denja (Grandpa Joe) was so very gracious as he took us all out for Sunday brunch at the Station 885 Restaurant in old towne Plymouth.

One of Mikey's birthday gifts was a two-wheeler Thomas the Train bicycle. Mommy thinks that Mikey is doing pretty darn well for his first try.

We had a great weekend and Maria thought she would take a little rest on the front lawn.

Those of you who have been to our house know that the furniture in this photo was downstairs. Rose felt that it was time to switch furniture downstairs/upstairs since we are nearly halfway through our 10 year plan to be in this house and then move to a condo. It's a different look but we generally like it.

Another view. Not sure if we'll leave the loveseat up or take it down and bring the other piece of the sectional upstairs. The Denjas visit the end of June and can help us decide.

How did you 2 manage this move on your own? We would have been happy to help you. The upstairs looks great, anxious to see the basement.
