It's good to be back home after two weeks in the heat of South Carolina. No more heat index of 115 degrees for us!! But we came home to two weeks of weeds...and a bit of prior neglect on our part before we went south. The Irish moss in the stones was taken over by weeds. Rose has to work pretty hard to get rid of them.
Bob helped, too, with the weeding that needs to be done one by one. But he did enjoy the nice, expensive cigar that Maeve and Aaron brought back from Maine for him.
The flower beds fared pretty well while we were gone.
Things look pretty good but not as robust as in past years. Not enough water while we were gone and Bob's back issues meant less quality. It's been a real joy to make these gardens over the first five years at the house but condo life with someone else doing the gardening is looking better each year.
