Above is a photo of Katie at Tina Connelly's cottage on Doc and Tom Lake. Note the Hiverants Rendezvous flag in the background. August is nearly over and its time for a recap of the last two weeks. Friends Pat and Katie Coakley arrived Monday, August 16 for a nice visit with us and for them to use our place as a home base to enjoy other friends and times. August 20-23 Rose and Katie joined the Hiverants at the cottage (on Doc and Tom Lake near Farwell) of friend Tina Connelly from our Coldwater days. The Hiverants are a group of various ladies who get together annually and was started by Rose and Katie about 30 years ago. The names and faces have changed a bit over the years but the good times and friendships have stayed.
That same weekend Pat went to Alma for his 24th annual Friendship Open. Pat began the event when he lived in Colon and the event was held at the Coldwater Country Club. The initial group of guys were basically high school classmates of Pat's from Trenton with a couple of us others thrown in. Bob stayed in TC to hold down the fort until August 23 when he joined Rose, Katie and Pat at the lake cottage.
August 24 we were joined at the cottage by Roger and Pat Finlan, longtime friends from our Harbor Beach days. Good conversation, good laughs and fond memories were shared.
Today, August 28, Pat and Katie left on their return to Florida home with a week long stop in Northville to visit son Sean and family. Safe travels until we meet again!

Nancy, Kathy and Rose brave a kayak adventure and paddle boat excursion. Nancy, on the left, was Rose's college roommate. Bob and Nancy share the same birthday and year so we actually remember each other's birthday despite our advancing age. Kathy is a great friend made while we lived in Boyne Falls.
