March Madness...Redmond Style

We had a busy March. Rose and Bob both worked several days. We drove to Sturgis to visit Grandma Alice for two days. We checked out St. Patrick's Day parades in Traverse City and Columbia, SC. We flew to Columbia for 8 days to visit the Masons and enjoy Avery and Kendall and do the Five Points St. Patrick's Day walk (our third time) and parade. We started a tradition of doing an organized walk in the morning of the St. Patrick's Day celebration in Five Points followed by bloody marys and chili-cheese fries for breakfast at Delaney's Bar. We may have bought a house in South Carolina. We came home to TC and 10 inches of new snow. We took our first, maybe last, snowshoe walk for the winter in TC after we returned.

March 12 St. Patrick's Day parade in Traverse City. Snow in the air but not that much on the ground.

Part of the 15 minute parade in Traverse City.

Our second day in Lexington with the Masons and Kendall helps Grandma Rose plant flowers in their flower boxes.

Avery is growing fast and during the week became very vocal and much more alert.

Rose and I took Kendall to daycare almost everyday to keep her on schedule and allow us to do our house search. Kendall is decked out in her St. Patrick's finest to celebrate the day at "school."

Maeve does lots of fun things with the girls.

Go for the Green St. Patrick's Day walk in Five Points in Columbia. A beautiful day.

Grandpa Bob protecting Avery from the sins of bloody marys.

The Five Points fountain is green. Daddy Aaron had a baseball double header the day of the parade and could not join us...so sad.

Grandpa Bob clowns a bit at Five Points.

The Marine Corps band started the parade.

The 'girls' watching the parade. We had the best shade spot on the block!

The Five Points, Columbia version of the Scottville Clown Band. Just as good but not as much fun as the Clown Band.

Kudzu Queens were quite the gals.

Kendall got a ride on the train after the parade at the kid's carnival.

Maybe the Redmond winter home?

Six hours after we returned to Traverse City, with virtually no snow on the ground, we awoke to 8 inches of the heaviest snow of the season. Last night we got another 4 inches of fluffy stuff. So today we got to use our snowshoes on an absolutely glorious day of 26deg, no wind and bright sun shining on sparkling snow.

Check out the drift on the golf course behind our house!

Self portrait...poorly taken.
