It's been quite an April. We traveled to Lexington, SC with Grandma Alice and Rose's sister Mary to complete our transaction for a home in South Carolina. While there we visited the Masons, closed on the house, got the house interior painted and put a few thousand miles on the van and Grandma Alice's car. We left Lexington with sun and 80 degrees to return to Michigan and at least 5 inches of heavy, wet snow on April 21. We did get a chance to drive through Smokey Mountain National Park on the way home and enjoyed seeing the dogwood in bloom and the trees with leaves.
After a week home in TC we got a chance to have the Denja girls stay with us in for a week during their spring break. We did lots of fun stuff and will travel down to Sturgis at the end of the week to pick up Grandma Alice and celebrate Maria's 12th birthday and Isabel's first communion in Plymouth. Quite a lot accomplished. Next is to put the TC house on the market and look to sell it so we can move closer to the Denjas and Grandma Alice in a true condo. Anybody want to buy a really good house just off Grand Traverse Bay?

On the trip down we stayed the night in Corbin, KY the first home of Col. Harlin Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame.

Freshly painted walls and fireplace. Imagine the fireplace before when painted in Ohio State crimson...bad!

We got the added bonus of visiting the Masons. Kendall was so excited as she learned to blow bubbles!

While visiting we got a chance to go to the Freedom Festival in Columbia. It rained in the morning but turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. Kendall needed a little coaxing to get into the helicopter.

The last week of April meant we had the Denja girls for a week. The first day was the only dry day of the week so we gave Maria her birthday present early.
