Lexington, South Carolina Home Progress

Greetings y'all from South Carolina.
The Republican led Michigan legislature and Governor have literally driven us out of Michigan! We were planning to retain Michigan residency while doing the snowbird thing down here in Lexington, SC. But, in return for the legislature giving $1.5 Billion tax break to business (notice how the jobs came pouring in?) the Gov and politicians decided to tax our school retirement for the first time in history as well as taking numerous tax breaks away from poor folks and taxing other retiree income. So, we decided to become residents of South Carolina.

Anyway, here are some photos of the progress we're making on the SC house. We did not make lots of changes. The big items were painting the interior and replacing the laminate counter top with solid surface and updating the sink and faucet.

You'll notice that pictures are not hung and things are still in a bit of disarray but we're making progress. We also hope to close on a condo just east of Brighton, MI to spend the summers away from the SC heat and to be near 6 of 8 grandchildren, their parents and my mother.

So, here's a pictorial update. We'll do the same when the Brighton condo becomes reality.

The kitchen before the new sink, faucet and counter tops.

The kitchen with the new stuff. We're happy with the results.

New sofa, Rose's bright red recliner and a quilt in the making.

Bob's flat screen tv with our cheap but functional Big Lots tv stand. Notice the toys, too.

We got a king size bed...our first one.

Grandma Alice's room nearly ready for her visits with us for a few months to get her out of the Michigan winter time.

The other guest bedroom. Give us a call to visit but remember, you have to bring lots of red wine, take us out to dinner and leave after 3 days!
