It's been awhile since our last post. We celebrated anniversary and birthday without Dad Bruce and Uncle Ron. Rose began to work in earnest to use up the material that we moved from Coldwater and her Mom's stock of material for quilts and yarn projects. Rose and Bob made a quick trip to San Diego to visit Erin and the Denja family came up on November 1 to celebrate Rose's birthday and stay through the weekend. Following are photos of some of the events.
October 13 was Mom and Dad's 63d anniversary and was Uncle Ron's birthday. Bob and brother Dennis visited Sturgis to take Mom and Aunt Donna out to dinner to celebrate and remember the anniversary and birthday for the first time without Dad and Ron. These two lovely sisters give comfort to each other.
Grandma Rose crochets a large afghan. It will be about 5'x5'. Who wants it? First one to claim it via phone or email gets it!
We took Carmen and Maria to school at Spiritus Sanctus while we stayed at the Denjas in preparation for our park and fly service to the airport.
Looking out the window as we approach San Diego. Those are not clouds in the air. That is all smoke from the fires burning around the San Diego area.
Erin's place of work in San Diego. "Dad, I'm almost 30 years old and you're taking a picture of me at work! How embarrassing!"

San Diego from the Coronado Bay Bridge

Seaport Village in San Diego. Clear skies on the day we spent out and about town. Stopped by here to buy LeighAnne and girls some gifts.

The biggest and best calamari in the world! Pacific Beach has a bar called South Beach where Bob loves to get the calamari. It is a meal in itself!

Erin's friend Rachel joined us at the South Beach Bar

Erin tries out some new hair-do. What do you think?

A wind far between San Diego and Palm Springs. Too bad more of this is not done in Michigan.

This is not a picture of a truck! It is supposed to show a hilltop burned out by the fires. This was on I15 which was closed during the fires. You can see the entire hilltop burned off yet how it skipped some patches at the base of the hill. Smoke and soot filled the air the first couple days we were there.

Me, me....I'm first...Maeve wants the afghan that mom made!
Too late! I was already there, read the blog seconds after dad posted it and called dibs!!
Though truly it's big enough that we could probably both use it, if we could get mom to sew it in half :)
