Holiday Chronicles...Updated through Christmas

The holiday season, and true gifts of our life, started arriving Thursday, December 18.
I've added photos finally. There were literally hundreds taken over the last week but these give you a taste of the days and our activities. We are so happy that all were able to be together and traveled safely during the stormy weather. So far Erin is safely back in San Diego, Grandma Alice is back in Sturgis and Maeve and Aaron are enjoying their week in Coldwater with Aaron's family. We look forward to them traveling just as safely back to South Carolina. We are so blessed with fortune and family!
Erin made it to TC from all night of flying from San Diego. She brought some California sunshine as this was the first day in weeks when we had some peeks of the sun. We got a shot of her plane heading into the airport.

Don't they look comfy?
Ya think that Erin has to adjust to Michigan cold?

Maeve wonders if the baby is moving or if she has indigestion!

We got some hats for Christmas!

The whole family after our Christmas dinner.

Rose made great food for the entire week.

The adults exchanged home made gifts.

Maeve has two more months to go and it is a GIRL!

We got our southern girls out on snowshoes at least one time. They liked it.

The actual Christmas Day left us with Aaron, Rose, Erin, Maeve, Bob and Grandma Alice. We had a nice dinner at the Aerie Restaurant atop the Grand Traverse Resort tower.

Fire up, Chips! Alas they lost the Motor City Bowl but Maeve and Aaron will proudly use their new glasses.

We relaxed at times.

Mikey got to visit the Heritage Center in Traverse City and enjoy the Festival of Trains.

The little kids did some sledding. Maria liked it!

The kids opened presents on their first night in Traverse City so they could enjoy them for the rest of the visit.

We played some games.

Grandpa Bob got a birthday pie.

We enjoyed a hot tub at Dogwood Lodge near Sturgis where we stayed while we visited Grandma Alice, waited for Maeve and Aaron to arrive and then have her baby shower.

Aunt Mary made Maeve's favorite dish...a ham ball (really its cream cheese and meat with seasonings and it tasted great as this photo shows).

Nieces, nephews and family at the Dogwood Lodge.

Rose, her sister Mary and Bob enjoy a toast at the lodge.

Rose's brothers Tom and Mike joined us for a visit at the Lodge with Tom's wife Debbie and Mike's wife Robin.
Goodbyes are always so tough!
