Southern Trip...a bit farther south

Saturday, February 6 we left the Coakleys in The Villages and headed to Port Charotte, FL to spend a couple days with our good friends Roger and Pat Finlan. They are staying in a very nice condo in a nice development called Heritage Oak Park. We enjoyed the time with them for the weekend. Good friends, good food, good drink, good walks and even watched the Super Bowl.

The Finlans took us for a very nice visit to Stump Pass Beach State Park on the Gulf of Mexico. We had a great walk where we saw osprey nests, eagle nests and a great horned owl in its nest. The wind whipped the Gulf into some nice waves and we had a pleasant 2-3 mile walk.

Pat Finlan took this nice photo of us.

OK, we lounged a bit, too! After attending a little gathering with pizza and hot dogs at the Lodge in the Heritage Oaks we watched the rest of the Super Bowl with some new friends of Pat and Roger.
