September Shots

OK, OK...it's been awhile since we posted but then our life has been pretty dull this month. Guests are gone and Bob is back to working 3 days a week. A fair amount of rain has fallen in September but the temps have been so nice and now in end of the third week the mornings are high 40s and highs in the 60s. That is great northern Michigan weather!

The photo above shows dark skies to the east of our house on Sept 3 with the sun shining from the west making it pretty cool looking.

Sept 4 we had another rain storm with sun, rain and clouds mixing it up all day. We saw 4 separate rainbows to the east of the house and we finally took a shot of a nice double rainbow. A couple minutes earlier they were both full arcs but I missed that.

We haven't taken many couple bike rides this summer but the day after the storms shown above it was a gorgeous day and we took a nice ride to Frankfort and back. We stopped for a late breakfast in Frankfort and actually thought to take the camera along. We also stopped in Beulah on the way back and visited the Micinskis.

Today it was time for a walk so we headed into our "park" for a couple miles and caught the bay.

This shows the bay below the shot above. We are looking down about 100 feet from the water and you can see how clear it is. The zebra mussels cause havoc with the ecosystem but they do filter the water and make it clear.

You can't see our house behind the trees in the center but in a few weeks the leaves will be off the trees. Just a tinge of color is beginning in the treetops. Northern Michigan in the fall is a special place!

Great shots. I wondered if the leaves were already changing up there too.

This is the third blog I have visited in the last 10 minutes that features either a trip to a cider mill/orchard or a nice shot of MI in the fall - oh, how I miss my forever home!
