August 08 Summary

August has been a busy, fun month for us. Our dear friends, Pat and Katie Coakley, arrived and are spending the month with us. On August 1 our fifth grandchild, Peter Isaiah, arrived and we made the trip to Plymouth. It was great that aunts Erin and Maeve were able to be there, too. Erin even made it in time to be with LeighAnne at the birth. All the Coakley kids gathered in Traverse City for a family reunion and we enjoyed their company, too. Mom Alice was able to make it up here with her cousin, Sharon, for a quick overnight stay before they headed to the UP. Petey was baptised on August 17 so we made another quick trip down to the Detroit area and Grandma Paula and Grandpa Raul welcomed everyone after church to their home in Birmingham for a great lunch. Pat and Katie have been playing Pickleball and golf on a regular basis while they are here and finally Rose and Bob joined them for an outing on the Wolverine Course at the Grand Traverse Resort. Bob was laid up with a bad back so did not play but did a fine job gathering golf balls that others had lost. Our good friends, Roger and Pat Finlan, joined us all for a night's stay at the house with Pat and Katie and we had great conversation and reminisced.
