Woke up early on May 21 to a beautiful sunrise. As you know, photos never do a great sunrise or sunset justice but here's a glimpse of what a universal God has to offer.

We were inspired to have a garage sale. A sampling of our wares shown here. Sold a fair amount, made a small sum and cleaned out some accumulation. It was HOT at near 90 degrees so Bob did not mind sitting around and sipping a gin and tonic while watching the customers and the drive-bys.

There is something to be said for natural selection. We have some glorious lupines growing in the backyard as a result of the wildflower planting.

However, the natural selection part is shown here. For whatever reason the lupines love to seed themselves in the pea gravel of the walk area around the steps. We decided to let them grow and see what happened. The result is that we don't use the walk but cross back and forth on the steps while enjoying the blooms.

Life is good! Retirement dinner of bean/chili/lettuce/homegrown chives/tomato dip with blue chips and "sweet potato margaritas." The dip is actually quite healthy, low fat, high protein and a good portion of veges. The margaritas are a recipe of our friend Kathy Massey...a can of limeade, a can full of tequila, 12oz of diet 7-UP, 12oz of Corona beer and stirred gently. Salud!
