Harley Davidson and Swan Lake

We finally got a chance to take a nice bike ride together this week. Rose wanted to visit the Swan Lake Park in Sumter, SC after doing a drive through when Grandma Alice visited. So with the weather in the 80s all week and no rain predicted we headed out. Put on only 140 miles but a nice day ride with a stroll around the lake, a good lunch at Five Guys and Rose got some shopping done, too!

Lunch at Five Guys in Sumter. Yeah, the hamburgers are great but my personal favorite are the fries!

Just starting our little mile walk around Swan Lake Iris Gardens Park. Check out the link to read a bit more about the place. It's a very nice park maintained by the city and free admission. Sadly, the Japanese irises are not in bloom until later but still a beautiful spot.

Nice statue in the park.

A couple of the many varieties of swans in the park.

Turtles sunning themselves on a cypress tree.

I found this butterfly in the butterfly garden.

That's not some pond scum. It shows just how bad the tree pollen is down here right now!

One of many big, old magnolia trees in the park.

Switching gears here...the house construction proceeds next door. Looks like it will be a two story job so our new view out our bedroom windows will be someones back yard...crap!
