It's been quite awhile since the last post so here are a few pics to show what we've been up to. Bob's mother, Alice came down the end of February for a two week visit and we tried to do a few things different from her last visit. A fair amount of rainy weather and cooler temps prevented some of the things we wanted to do but we still did a few things. We'll post some pics of Great Grandma Alice in a future post.
We took a drive to Charleston one day and ventured onto The Isle of Palms across the river from downtown Charleston. Had a very nice lunch at a local cafe, dodged a lot of rain and here is the bridge ahead connecting Mt. Pleasant to Charleston.
We left the city after walking the open air market in downtown Charleston and drove across James Island and Wadmalaws Island to the Charleston Tea Plantation. Sadly, they closed at 4pm and we arrived at 4:15 but we did get to see the rows of tea plants and then drove to the end of the road to Rockville, just across the river from Edisto Island.
Maybe you can enjoy some tea from the good ole USA.
We also bought a sweet bay magnolia to plant in the backyard. Not as dark green and showy as the typical magnolias, the sweet bay is a native to the state. Hope it does well!
