For the last few years our Christmas tree was the potted kind. We put it on the front porch just outside the front picture window and decorated it for Christmas. Then in spring we can plant the tree and enjoy it for years to come AND avoid killing a tree! Here you see the two trees that we have planted. They are different varieties and will hopefully serve as nice windbreaks and provide a little oxygen for the world. Rose is standing beside this year's tree that we just planted. You can see how much the tree from 2006 has grown.
