Day Three with Erin...Sunday, Mother's Day

It was a Happy Mother's Day! We started the day at Christ the King Church with a gospel mass. It was great! Then we headed to Mary Jane's Restaurant, part of the Hard Rock Hotel, for a great breakfast. We headed back to Erin's apartment to change and rest a bit before heading out to Sea World.
At Sea World the weather really cooperated and the marine layer dried off to wonderful sunshine and gentle breeze. We saw lots of shows and did a couple rides. The helicopter simulator going over the Arctic was really neat and we ended Sea World with a combo roller coaster/water ride called Atlantis and got just a tiny bit wet. Actually, Carmen and Aunt Erin got REALLY wet! They changed clothes and then headed to Ocean Beach for a take out dinner at the South Beach Bar where Grandpa Bob had to get the world's best fried calimari! We got home, ate like pigs and fell asleep.
Tomorrow (today now) we will do a bit less. We have a long day with the flight out of Los Angeles at 11:30 pacific time and overnight arriving in Detroit at 6:50am. This will be the last post until we get back to Michigan. Love to all.
Ready for church in front of the beautiful wall that Erin made.

Carmen lit a candle for Mommy on Mother's Day

We're ready for breakfast!

Mimosa for Grandma and Bloody Mary for Grandpa. Happy Mother's Day!

We're headed into Sea World.

The Dolphin Show was very cool. They can really jump!

We got pretty close to Shamu! Boy, can he make a big splash!

How would you like to surf on a killer whale?

The Seal Show was a spoof of Saturday Night Live. Very funny.

We saw lots of other sea life. A little pose in front of the manatee exhibit.

"Who you lookin' at?"

The polar bears had a long day. This is all we saw of them. You could say they were chillin'.

This is the first of two splashes to come on the Atlantis ride.

After the ride we looked a bit soaked!

We were at the top of Atlantis ride. Goodbye, Sea World.
