Visiting Erin Day Two

Day two in San Diego started out kind of lazy with us sleeping in a bit, to 7:15, and lounging a bit in the morning. About 10 we walked to Seaport Village to do some shopping and people watching. The Red Bull Air Races were going on in the San Diego Harbor and we caught the flyover of the American Flag and jet fighters just after the national anthem. We then walked to Grandpa Bob's favorite nostalgic place, The Kansas City Barbecue, made famous by the bar scenes in Top Gun. We had a good lunch and then walked back home for a little rest.
Then we drove to Erin's friend Eliana to use her apartment and swimming pool and hot tub. Erin is watching her apartment while Eliana is away for a short trip. No pool photos, sorry, but we had a nice time and then another of Erin's friends, Rachel, joined us for a short time in the pool. It was quite cool and overcast as the marine clouds rolled in. Then we headed back to the apartment but the girls made a quick stop for a pedicure.
Later tonight we are going to North Park for the Art Walk and probably some snacks. Tomorrow we plan to make a visit to Sea World among other things. Watch for our next post.

We caught the flyover and flag at the start of the Red Bull Air Races.

Waiting for food at the Kansas City Barbecue. The sun was out and quite warm for awhile and Carmen needed Grandpa's hat for shade.

The results of the pedicure. Grandma thought it was very, very relaxing.
