We had a wonderful 4 days in California with Aunt Erin. On our last day we visited (for the second time) the apartment of Erin's friend and their swimming pool. Erin was watching the cat and checking on the apartment so we got a couple opportunities to use the pool and hot tub. We also made a last visit to Ocean Beach to check out some stores and let Carmen fulfill her daddy's request to walk in the Pacific Ocean. It was a great visit made even better by the fact that Grandma Alice was recovering nicely back in Michigan from her surgery. We caught a late flight back to Detroit from Los Angeles (thanks Aunt Erin for driving us!) leaving at 11:30pm Pacific Time and 2:30am Eastern Time. We arrived in Detroit about 6:30am, were picked up by LeighAnne and made a quick visit with the Denjas before Rose and Bob drove to Sturgis to check on Grandma Alice.

The hot tub felt so good.
Daddy Mike is really interested in geography and bench marks. We took a photo of a bench mark in the concrete divider on the beach in Ocean Beach.
The waves caused Carmen to be a bit tentative at first. There were lots of surfers out, too.
Carmen thought she should leave her mark on California.
